I began training in Krav Maga in 1999. Due to many years of training in systems which were similar, I successfully completed my first instructor course in spring of 2000. Currently I serve as the Arizona Representative for Israeli Krav International.
I also hold a 4th dan in an eclectic system which incorporates techniques and principles from Tae Kwon Do, 2 styles of Karate, Jeet Kune Do, Japanese Ju Jutsu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Sambo and Filipino Concepts.
My search for realism in training drove me head long into Krav Maga and I was hooked after my first exposure.
I consider myself very fortunate to be a part of the most evolved and effective form of Krav Maga to date. Taught to and used everyday by the YAMAM, Sayeret Duvdevan and elite security personnel, IKI Krav Maga is proven several times daily on the battle field and the streets / dark alley ways of Israel, Gaza, the West Bank and the world.
While I have held rank in Krav from other organizations, I recently decided to test for Black Belt with IKI. Even though it has never been about rank for me, I am finding the advanced skills in IKI to be the most practical of ANY organization I have ever been a part of. So my goal is to catch my rank in IKI Krav Maga with my other dan rankings as soon as I can absorb the material. Hopefully I can accomplish this in the next 4 or 5 years. The IKI advanced skills are not about fancy moves, or athleticism (spinning/flying techniques), but about more efficient ways to deal with ever increasingly skilled opponents! In my humble opinion, this is just another proof of the modern evolution of Israeli Krav International's Krav Maga.

Thank you for your comment and no apologies are necessary! It's good to see someone enjoying their work...I am slightly envious as I certainly don't get that kind of job satisfaction from my daily job lol !!
Your comment is very complete and covers everything I needed to know when looking for Krav Maga resources etc...I will follow your suggestions. This site is an excellent place to find information and I am looking at the online training on the IKI site. Krav Maga is the new karate now, everyone seems to be talking about it. This has led to the appearence of many courses being offered and clubs springing up by supposedly KM 'experts'. The sooner these people are exposed and removed from circulation the better, else I feel KM will suffer the kind of bad press many martial arts suffered years ago. Back then, everyone seemed to be a martial arts expert, set up a club, taught poorly or even dangerously which led to all martial arts being getting a bad reputation. I will certainly follow your suggestion about researching the credentials of those offering training!
Going to one-off seminars is the best option for 'live' training for me until my geographical and work situation alters, which will allow me to train in person.
Thank you again Tim for taking the time and trouble to post such an informative answer to my question!
Hey Tim I just wanted to thank you again for producing the recent IKI DVD's with Moshe Katz. They are great! Easy to follow format and great techniques! I highly recommend them to anyone out there looking for authentic Krav Maga direct from Israel!
